MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Marian University field hockey (8-5, 1-2 CFHC) put together a second straight impressive defensive performance but was defeated by Rhodes 1-0.

- There wasn't much action in the opening half as each side only managed one shot on goal.
- The third quarter saw Rhodes outshoot Marian 9-2 but the Sabres kept the game scoreless.
- Both offenses came alive in the final quarter as the two squads combined for 13 shots.
- Rhodes was able to open the scoring just 1:37 into the fourth quarter to end the scoreless tie.
- The Sabres were able to get two shots on goal off of penalty corners late but were unable to find an equalizer.

- Rhodes finished with a 21-9 advantage for shots and 12-4 edge for shots on goal.
- The Lynx had 13 penalty corners to only five for Marian.
- Fouls were nearly even with 64 for Rhodes and 63 for Marian.
- Marian is now 1-7 all-time against Rhodes with the Lynx taking the last four meetings.
