THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Marian University men's volleyball (9-11, 3-3 NACC) fell to No. 15 UC-Santa Cruz and No. 7 Cal Lutheran in straight sets.

- The opener of the day saw Marian fall to UC-Santa Cruz by a total of 8 points; 26-24, 25-22, 25-22.
- The Sabres had a slim 22-21 edge in the opening set in their second match of the season against the Banana Slugs.
- After Marian was able to fend off a set-point at 24-23, UCSC managed to score on two straight points.
- Marian had a 20-19 advantage late in the third as well only to have the Banana Slugs score five of the next six points to help secure the sweep.
- Facing CLU for a second straight night, the Sabres had a tough time bouncing back from the first defeat falling to the Regals 25-12, 25-17, 25-15.

- UCSC had a 42-34 advantage for kills, but the Sabres held a 40-34 edge for digs.
- Marian had double-digit kills in all three sets against the Banana Slugs.
- The Sabres hit .143 against Cal Lutheran with 30 kills and were only outpaced in the category 39-30.
- Marian is 0-4Â all-time, and 0-2 this season, against Cal Lutheran and UC-Santa Cruz.
