GAME 1 Marian wasted no time opening the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the first highlighted by a single from graduate student Robbie Knorr that scored the first two runs of the game. The next half inning saw CUW cut its deficit to 4-3, but Marian responded with two more runs in the bottom of the second. Small ball in that frame saw senior James Bornick and Knorr bring home a run with sacrifices. A productive out from sophomore Marc Jones gave Marian a 7-3 lead in the third. This score held until the seventh when Marian broke the game open with two more runs. A wild pitch in the eighth saw Marian extend the advantage to 9-3. A solo home run in the ninth from CUW put the final at 10-4. GAME 2 The second game saw CUW get out to a fast start with a three-run home run in the second and a run in the third to lead 4-0. A two-out double from Knorr plated two runs to highlight a three-run third to put Marian behind just one. The fifth inning saw each side plate a run to put the CUW advantage up to 5-4. The Falcons had a big sixth inning scoring four runs to take a 9-4 advantage. Marian fought off this momentum shift using a single from senior Jacob Kleemann to score two runs and trail 9-6. The Sabres were silenced until the ninth where Bornick brought home a run to bring the Sabre deficit to two. Marian was able to load the bases with just one out but a strikeout and flyout ended the rally. Graduate student Robbie Knorr was 4-for-7 (.571) in the twin bill with five runs driven in and two runs scored. Senior Michael Martinez was dominant out of the pen tossing the final 3.2 innings of game two allowing just one hit with eight strikeouts.
