APPLETON, Wis. - Marian University women's lacrosse (2-11, 1-9 NACC) fell to Lawrence 18-7 in its final game of the season.
- Senior Serge Simard was able to open the scoring just 1:58 into the game, but Lawrence responded with five unanswered goals to finish the first stanza.
- Simard once again opened the scoring for the second, but just like the first, the Vikings netted seven unanswered goals to lead 12-2.
- Marian built momentum going into halftime with goals from freshman Bennett Luke and Simard.
- The Vikings held Marian scoreless in the third quarter and built its lead to 17-4.
- Marian attempted to rally in the final quarter scoring the first three goals but Lawrence scored the final tally to put the final at 18-7.
- Lawrence finished with a 59-21 advantage for shots in the game.
- The Vikings also held a 51-25 edge for ground balls.
- Each side had four man-up chances but neither squad was able to score.
- This was the first meeting between the two programs.
