#10 - Bartol Heave Lands on SportsCenter Top 10

The crown jewel of the sports world, senior Lyla Bartol found herself on the SportsCenter Top 10 list after a half court bucket against Lake Forest.  The heave came at the end of the third quarter to put Marian ahead 58-43 and it was nothing but net.

As for the rest of the game, Marian was able to earn its first victory of the season defeating the Foresters 76-70.  A fast start to the game saw Marian lead 11-2 after 3:48 of action.  The Bartol buzzer beater wasn't the only bucket at the horn for the Sabres as fellow senior Lexi Brakebush hit a jumper to put Marian ahead 22-18 at the end of the first quarter.

Lake Forest headed into halftime ahead 37-35, but a dominating third stanza saw the Sabres out score LFC 23-6.  The cherry on top of the sundae was the half court heave from Bartol that sank through the bottom of the net.

A late barrage of three pointers aided Marian to lead 74-66 with 1:19 left to play after the Foresters went on a 14-2 run to only trail by three.  Junior Chelsea King led the way with 23 points and five steals, while Bartol added 13 points and three assists.
