DE PERE, Wis. - Marian University women's soccer (3-2-2, 0-1-0 NACC) suffered defeat in their conference opener to St. Norbert, 0-2.
- St. Norbert started with a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute off a goal from Abigail Rabideau.
- Back-to-back shots on goal from junior Emily Gordillo and senior Caitlin Traver couldn't break through late in the first half.
- The Sabres went into the break down 1-0, recording zero corner kicks in the half.
- At 50:10, the Green Knights extended their lead to two with a goal from Michelle Piro.
- Senior Brianna Guelig nearly knotted a goal for the Sabres, hitting the right woodwork at 59:36.
- The clock ultimately hit zeroes and Marian dropped to 0-1 in NACC play.
- St. Norbert led in the shots category, with a 12-8 advantage, including 6-4 in shots on goal.
- Both teams were even with four saves each.
- The Sabres had seven fouls, compared to the Green Knights 12, and only had one foul in the second half.
- The 2-0 defeat marked the Sabres first time being shut-out this season.
- The loss sent the all-time series against the Green Knights to 3-6, with the Sabres winning the two matchups prior to tonight (2023, 2024).
