APPLETON, Wis. - Marian University women's volleyball (1-4, 0-0 NACC) fell to Lawrence before defeating Rockford for its first win of the season.

VS. LAWRENCE (25-14, 25-19, 25-18)
- Marian had a slow start to the triangular falling to Lawrence in straight sets.
- The Sabres only trailed 14-12 in the opener before the Vikings rattled off a 9-1 run.
- Marian rallied from an early deficit to only trail 20-19.
- Lawrence was able to end the set, however, scoring five straight points.
- Marian led 16-14 to start the third, but once again, a big run saw Lawrence score 11 of the final 13 points to end the match.
VS. ROCKFORD (25-17, 25-15, 25-20)
- Rockford had a strong start to the match leading 11-6.
- The Sabres were able to bounce back, however, going on a 10-2 run to lead by three.
- The Regents managed to tie the set at 17-17 before Marian scored eight straight to take the set.
- The second set was similar but a 10-2 spurt in the middle fo the set saw Marian pull away.
- The Sabres opened the third set ahead 8-2 with a fast start and never looked back.
- The Regents cut their deficit down to 24-20 before Marian forced an attacking error to earn the sweep.

VS. LAWRENCE
- Lawrence had a 40-30 advantage in kills and a 49-33 edge in digs.
- The Vikings also hit .343 in the win and only had six attacking errors.
- Marian is now 16-21 all-time against Lawrence with this being the first Viking win since 2019.
VS. WHEATON
- Marian had a 34-22 advantage in kills and a 57-49 edge in digs.
- The Sabres also had a big match at the service line with 12 aces.
- Marian had at least 11 kills in all three sets.
- The Sabres are 15-7 all-time against Rockford and have won the last 12 meetings.
