WHITEWATER, Wis. - Marian University women's soccer (3-0-1, 0-0-0 NACC) tied UW-Whitewater 1-1 in a close late evening affair.
- The first half was scoreless, with both teams totaling a combined four shots on goal.
- Whitewater started off the scoring in the second half, as Aria Patel was able to make the score 1-0 at 51:15.
- Marian responded with a goal by junior Sophia Romo at 59:25 to even the score at 1-1.
- The Warhawks nearly answered with a shot from Summer Curtis hitting the top of the woodwork at 62:22.
- Both teams did what they could to prevent a tie, but senior Chelsea King saved two Whitewater shot attempts in the final three minutes to solidify the tie.
- Marian finished with a 7-4 lead in saves, including 4 in the second half..
- The Warhawks held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks, Marian's first game with zero corner kicks since Sept.14, 2024; a 2-0 loss at Loras.
- Marian remains undefeated, but suffered it's first tie of the season.
- It was the first game this season where Marian was unable to record a shutout.
- The Sabres sit at 0-9-1 all-time against UW-Whitewater, as this was the first time Marian has either won or tied the Warhawks in series history.
