Marian women's basketball falls to St. Norbert

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's basketball (1-12, 1-5 NACC) was held in check offensively in a fast-paced 71-45 loss to St. Norbert.

Sophomore Taycee Schwanke got the Sabres on the board with a three-pointer, their lone lead of the night.
Back-to-back buckets from freshman Ava Kreger tied the score at 13-13 with two minutes left in the first quarter.
The Sabres were held without a field goal for nearly seven minutes until a three-pointer from freshman Cassandra Arndt narrowed the deficit to nine midway through the second quarter.
Senior Chelsea King hit a three-pointer with one minute remaining, sending the Sabres into the break trailing 36-26.
The Green Knights controlled the start of the third quarter with a 9-0 run, but Kreger brought the Sabres back to life with two three-pointers.
St. Norbert extended its lead in the fourth with a 14-2 run, pushing the advantage to 29.
Sophomore Taylor Ptacek entered late and drained her first three-pointer of the season.
Two free throws from sophomore Dasha Yeltysheva wrapped up the 71-45 loss.

Marian once again tied its season high with eight three-pointers, with Arndt, King, and Kreger contributing two each.
