ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Marian University men's volleyball (4-7, 0-0 NACC) took the third set to force four at Augustana (Ill.) but fell 25-20, 25-14, 20-25, 25-15.

- Marian had an early lead at 10-9 but five straight points gave the Vikings the lead for good in the opening set.
- The second set saw Augustana (Ill.) jump out to an early 8-2 lead.
- Marian trailed just 17-12 before the Vikings ended the set on an 8-2 run.
- The two sides traded the lead at the beginning of the third with the Vikings leading narrowly 15-14.
- Marian then went on a 7-1 run to lead by five and eventually keep the match alive.
- The Sabres scored five of the first six points of the fourth set only for Augustana (Ill.) to respond with a 14-4 run.
- Another four straight points from the Vikings shortly after allowed Augustana (Ill.) to cruise to the set win.

- Augustana (Ill.) had a 52-39 edge in kills, but Marian led the way in the back row 54-52.
- The Vikings had 12 blocks to only four for Marian.
- The Sabres had double-digit kills in the first and third set.
- Marian is still in search of its first win away from Sadoff Gym this season.
