CLERMONT, Fla. - Marian University softball (1-3, 0-0 NACC) split the second day of its spring trip defeating Neumann 5-4 before falling to St. John Fisher 6-4.

GAME 1 (NEUMANN, W, 5-4)
- Productive outs helped Marian score three runs in the bottom of the second to open the scoring.
- Junior Mackenzie Christofferson and senior Riley Mankowski each drove in runs for the Sabres.
- The Knights had an answer taking the lead with four runs in the top of the fourth.
- A double from senior Ariana Schliepp brought home a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to give Marian the lead for good.
- The Sabres allowed just one runner the rest of the way to secure their first win of the season.
GAME 2 (ST. JOHN FISHER, L, 6-4)
- The Cardinals opened the scoring in game two scoring a run in the first and third inning.
- Schliepp and junior Savanna Knuth provided back-to-back run-producing hits with two outs in the fourth to tie the game at 2-2.
- St. John Fisher continued its consistent offense, however, scoring a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to lead 5-2.
- Marian was able to cut that lead down to one with another pair of runs in the sixth.
- Chrisofferson and junior Sabrina Di Vito each drove home a run in the frame.
- The Cardinals responded with an insurance run in the bottom half of the sixth.
- Marian was able to bring the tying run to the plate but were unable to rally.

- Marian had a slim 9-8 advantage in hits and each defense had an error.

- Just like in game one, Marian had an edge in hits 9-8.
- Marian had the lone error of the game leading to one unearned run.
- The Sabre had four extra-base hits in the defeat.
- The Cardinals swiped five bases.
