RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University softball (12-12, 9-5 NACC) erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 7-6 win in game one before dropping game two of a doubleheader with Dominican.

GAME 1Â
- Marian loaded the bases in the first and held Dominican to one hit through three innings, but couldn't push any runs across.Â
- That changed in the fourth as sophomore Aubrey Bender plated senior Carissa Heisdorf with a double.Â
- Dominican came to life in the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 6-1 lead.Â
- With their backs against the wall, the Sabres answered with six runs in the sixth, with junior Mackenzie Christofferson and sophomore Macey Pease each driving in two.
- Junior Savanna Knuth held the Stars to one hit over the final two innings and struck out two to help secure the comeback win for Marian.Â
GAME 2Â
- Dominican plated one run in the first, while Marian went down in order.Â
- The Stars added another run in the third on a sacrifice fly, extending their lead to two.Â
- The Sabres left two on base in the fourth, with Christofferson advancing to third, but came away empty.Â
- Knuth's sacrifice fly drove in senior Ariana Schliepp in the sixth to cut the deficit to one.Â
- Dominican retired Marian in the seventh without a run to sneak past the Sabres in game two.Â
GAME 1
