DE PERE, Wis. - Marian University softball (17-17, 14-8 NACC) split Friday's doubleheader at St. Norbert, falling 8-5 in game one before winning 9-4 in game two.
GAME 1
- The Green Knights scored twice in the first inning on a two-run double.
- St. Norbert's lead grew to 5-0 after three innings, as Marian managed just one hit through the first three.
- Marian sparked some offense with two hits and a run in the fourth.
- Sophomore Macey Pease delivered a two-run single in the fifth to trim the deficit to three.
- Pease and senior Ariana Schliepp each recorded RBI's in the seventh, but the Green Knights held on for an 8-5 win.
GAME 2
- Three first-inning runs put the Sabres ahead, including one on a dropped fly ball, before junior Savanna Knuth capped the frame with an RBI double.
- Schliepp kept the Sabres ahead with an RBI single in the second, scoring junior Erin Cowe.
- Marian broke it open with a five-run sixth. Pease delivered a two-run single, Schliepp added an RBI double, and senior Riley Mankowski scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 9-2.
- St. Norbert scored twice in the seventh, but a game-ending strikeout by Knuth sealed the win for the Sabres.

- Each team committed an error, leading to two unearned runs for the Sabres in the fifth and one for the Green Knights in the sixth.
