MONTGOMERY, Ill. - Marian University softball (21-19, 15-9 NACC) had its season come to a close falling to Benedictine 8-0 in six innings at the NACC Tournament.

- After a clean first inning for both sides, Marian opened the second with runners on second and third with only one out but couldn't plate a run.
- The Sabres once again had a chance in the fourth putting runners on first and second with one out but were once again held without a run.
- Benedictine was able to put together its first rally in the fourth scoring two runs.
- The Eagles tacked on four runs in the fifth to lead 6-0 but stranded the bases loaded.
- The first five Benedictine hitters reached in the sixth to end the game early at 8-0.

- Marian was limited to only five hits, while Benedictine finished the game with 11.
- The Eagles had the only error of the game.
- Marian was shut out for the sixth time this season, second time by Benedictine.
- Benedictine went 3-0 against Marian this season and now holds a 28-14 record against the Sabres all-time.
- Marian finishes the season with a winning record for the third straight campaign.
