LU EARNS SECOND NACC MEDALIST AWARD
Yinan Lu continued to cement herself as the best golfer in Marian women's golf history earning her second NACC Medalist award in three seasons.
Lu opened the NACC Championship with a 76 that put her in a tie for first. She stayed in that same position after a second round score of 75. In that round she had three birdies. The final round started slowly for Lu as she was three-over after the first five holes with a birdie, two bogeys, and a double bogey. Those would be the final blemishes for Lu on the round as she went three-under-par over the final 13 holes to finish the round with an even-par 71. It was her second even-par round of the season and gave her a two-stroke win for her second NACC Medalist honor.
That wouldn't be the end of her awards, however, as Lu went on to become the first Sabre from the women's golf program to be voted the NACC Women's Golf Athlete of the Year.  She closed out the year with a 76.6 stroke average over 16 rounds, nearly a full stroke over the next best golfer in the conference. Lu was the only student-athlete in the NACC this year to finish with multiple rounds at or below par this season after an even-par 72 in the second round of the Ives Grove Firebird Fall Classic and an even-par 71 at the final round of the NACC Championship. She posted four of the best 14 18-hole scores in the conference finishing the season with 13 rounds of 80 or fewer strokes.
She earned medalist recognition at four events on the season to go with a top-five finish at five other events. Along with the NACC Championship, she was the medalist at the Marian Invitational, Benedictine Fall Invitational, and Edgewood Fall Invitational.  She also earned NACC Student-Athlete of the Week recognition three times.
