FOND DU LAC / HAMMOND, Ind. - Marian University ACHA D2 hockey (0-2-0, 0-2-0 NCHL) dropped a pair of one-goal games to open its season.
  GAME 1 (HOME, L, 3-2)

• Marian was able to get off to a strong start scoring just 2:32 into the game when Liam Stoddard used his backhand with an assist from Jackson Powers.
• A power-play goal from PNW evened the tally and sent the game into a 1-1 tie at the first intermission.
• The Sabres once again had a quick start when Anthony O'Neal lit the lamp 1:25 into the second period with help from Blake Stafford and Cayden Frenette.
• Another power-play score from the Pride evened the score, however, as the two teams continued the stalemate going into the third period.
• Purdue Northwest was able to take its first lead of the game 3:57 into the third, and Marian was unable to find an equalizer late.

GAME 2 (AWAY, L, 4-3)

•  A similar script broke out for game two but it was PNW that had an early 1-0 lead scoring just 5:26 into the game.
• Marian had an equalizer when O'Neal lit the lamp with 2:25 left in the period with an assist to Chris Regan.
• The Pride were able to take the lead in the second period scoring a pair of goals sandwiched around a goal from Jace Weber; assist to Stoddard.
• Sweeney was able to tie the game four minutes into the third period with an assist from O'Neal, but PNW netted the game-winning goal with just 1:03 left to play.

GAME 1

• Marian was outshot 49-21 in the game with the Pride holding a 22-4 edge in shots in the third period.
• PNW was 2-for-5 on the power play while Marian went scoreless on six opportunities.

GAME 2

• PNW held a similar 44-19 advantage for shots with Marian recording 11 of its shots in the second period.
• Each team scored on its lone power-play opportunity of the game.
• Marian is now 6-6-0 all-time against PNW with the Pride taking four of the last five meetings.
