DELAWARE, Ohio - Marian University field hockey (0-1, 0-0 CFHC) suffered a loss in its opening game of the season falling to Ohio Wesleyan 8-2.

- Marian wasted no time in answering back with a goal netted by Angelene Castro at 6:39.
- The Battling Bishops responded with another goal putting them ahead 2-1 heading into the second quarter.
- Shaelyn Klassen knotted the score at 2-2Â just 36 seconds into the second quarter.
- Ohio Wesleyan controlled the run of play for the remainder of the game, however, scoring 2 goals in each of the final three quarters to set the final at 8-2.
- Ohio Wesleyan held a 27-9 advantage in shots, including a 19-4 edge in shots on goal.
- The Battling Bishops earned 14 penalty corners compared to two for Marian.
- Marian was called for 30 fouls compared to 33 for Ohio Wesleyan.
