2021: Closed out her Sabre career with her third all-conference selection earning a spot on the second team.  She found the back of the net seven times with an assist to put her point total at 15 for the season.  Coughlin had a strong end of the regular season scoring a goal in four of the final seven matches of the season.  She also had her lone three-point match during this stretch after scoring a goal with her lone assist of the season on the road against Aurora in a 4-3 overtime victory.  Coughlin closes out her 83-game career at Marian eighth on the all-time scoring list with 34 goals and 11 assists for 79 total points.

2020-21: Earned the second all-conference selection of her career being named to the All-NACC honorable mention team.  Coughlin tied for the team lead with eight points on the season coming from three goals and a pair of assists.  In the final two games of the regular season that she saw action, she was able to post a goal and assist giving her six points in the final two games.  Coughlin posted double-digit shots in two games, and she had a hand in both goals against Lakeland to earn the Sabres a spot in the postseason.

2019: Started in all 18 games scoring 11 goals with four assists for 26 total points.  Led the team in assists and was second on the squad for goals and points.  Had a pair of five-point games where she scored two goals with an assist against Ripon and Alverno.  Had four multi-goal games on the season.

2018: Played in 18 games making three starts.  Scored three goals with another three assists for a total of nine points.  Scored twice with an assist for a five-point game in an 11-1 win over Alverno.

2017: Was named second-team all-conference playing in all 19 games with 11 starts.  Led the Sabres with 10 goals on the season, fifth in the NACC, while also ranking second on the squad with 21 points.  The freshman was also the team leader with three game-winning goals; Maranatha Baptist, Benedictine, and Edgewood.  Coughlin had one multi-goal game at Maranatha Baptist where she also had an assist for a five-point game.  She was a consistent scorer for the Sabres especially down the final stretch of the season where she netted a goal in five of the final six games of the year.  Coughlin netted the lone goal in the 2-1 NACC Tournament first-round loss at Concordia Wisconsin and had a season-high seven shots in that defeat.

High School:  Was a starter on the varsity team for all four seasons at Plainfield East High School.  Was named All-Conference twice and earned the golden boot three times for scoring the most goals.  She was also named a team captain three times and in her senior season set a school record for 29 goals.  At the West Aurora Tournament, Shannon scored 29 goals in 21 games.  Played for the Bolingbrook Soccer Club “Raiders”.
