Burgundy Biletski

  • Title
    Assistant Field Hockey Coach
Burgundy Biletski joins the Marian field hockey coaching staff as part of the inaugural season.

"I am incredibly excited to have Burgundy joining our staff," said Head Field Hockey Coach Holly Heeb.  "Including being an extremely talented goalkeeper at the international level, her enthusiasm for the game is contagious.  Her ability to develop student-athletes will elevate our program.  She will strongly aid in the development and success of our program with her wealth of experience across a variety of competitive levels."

Biletski began her coaching career serving as an assistant coach at the University of Maine, an NCAA Division I institution, for three seasons.  She worked directly with goalkeepers during her time aiding in skill acquisition, development, and strategy.  She also played a pivotal role in the development of practice sessions, team travel, gameday operations, travel budgets, fundraisers, and recruiting.  With her leadership, the Black Bears saw a marked improvement and in her final season Maine would finish 13-6, the sixth-most wins in a single season for the program up to that point.

She then returned to Canada to serve as the executive director for Field Hockey Alberta, a position she held for a decade.  In her first four years, Field Hockey Alberta saw a 40-percent increase in membership as a result of her marketing strategies and restoration of relationships with stakeholders.  Her leadership skills saw her restructure staff positions to increase efficiency and reduce costs for the organization.  Biletski also aided the successful launch of a new website, with improved content, and the rebranding of a new, bold, and modern logo.

Biletski earned bachelor degrees in biology along with secondary education and teaching from the University of Calgary.
