Biography

2022: Closed out her Sabre career by being named to the honorable mention team of the NACC.  Weigel hit .337 on the season with a .429 slugging percentage and led the team with 19 runs driven in.  She was held hitless in just nine of 33 games and had seven multi-hit games.  During the Lakeland doubleheader, Weigel hit 5-for-9 (.555) with a run scored and two runs driven in. Weigel also drove in three runs in the first game of a doubleheader against Benedictine where she went 2-for-3 with a run scored.  Over her career, Weigel recorded 87 hits over the course of 100 games for a .340 batting average.  Her slugging percentage closes at .496 stemming from 13 doubles and nine home runs.  Of her 58 runs driven in over the past four years, 47 of them came over the past two seasons.

2021: Played in all 43 games posting a .364 batting average with a .449 on-base percentage and .593 slugging percentage.  Recorded 43 hits on the season with six doubles and seven home runs.  Scored 24 runs and also drove in 28 runs, while drawing 16 walks.  Only struck out 17 times in 118 at bats.  Had four games where she recorded three hits, and seven games with multiple runs driven in.  In the second game of a twin bill with Dominican (Apr. 1),  she went 3-for-3 with a run scored and four driven in.

2020: Played in eight games with two hits and four driven in.  She also scored once and walked twice.  Against Thiel, she was able to hit her first-career home run.

2019: Played in 16 games with nine hits, .310 batting average, to go with three runs scored and seven driven in.  In the finale against Rockford, she went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two driven in.

High School: Was a three-sport athlete at West Salem High School, earning four varsity letters in softball, two varsity letters in volleyball, and two varsity letters in basketball.  The decorated softball player was a three-time all-conference player, was named all-district twice, and the freshman rookie of the year.  She also was a captain for two years and won the team MVP award two times.  She also has a total of four conference championships to her name (one softball, two volleyball, and one basketball) as well as a regional championship in volleyball.
