Freshman Sydney Magnuson (Neillsville, Wis.) continued her strong first campaign with Marian women's hockey posting a dominating month of January.  She finished the month with a 1.24 goals-against average to go with a .954 save percentage.  Magnuson started in five games during January and allowed multiple goals in just one of them to go with a pair of shutouts.  Her first shutout came in a 0-0 tie in the opener of LFC where she stopped all 41 shots she saw, her third performance with at least 40 saves this season.  She then had a 25-save shutout in another 0-0 tie in teh finale with Lawrence for her fifth shutout of the season, a single-season Marian record.  Magnuson also earned an NCHA Star of the Week award after leading Marian to a 2-1 overtime victory against Aurora where she made 22 saves with a .957 save percentage.
