Box Score (Fond du Lac, WI) - Logan Rankin (Algoma, WI) tied a career-high with 31 points and added a career-high, 17 rebounds in Marian's 81-68 NAC victory over Dominican University on Saturday afternoon at Sadoff Gymnasium. Rankin was 11-for-19 from the field for the Sabres (4-5; 1-1 NAC) and 9-for-12 from the free-throw line.

Marian never trailed in the contest and took a 39-25 lead into the break. Rankin scored 13 of his 31 points in the first period as Marian shot 14-for-28 from the field and held the Stars to just 7-for-25 from the field in the half. Marian scored twenty of their first half points in the paint. Their largest lead in the half was sixteen points on two occasions.

In the second, the Stars methodically worked their way back into the game and cut the deficit to 55-52 with 8:55 to play. Marian's Kevin Hudak (Ashwaubenon, WI) hit a three to put the Sabres back up six. From there, the closest the Stars came was five points.

Marian finished the game shooting 28-for-58 (48%) from the field and finished 23-32 (72%) from the charity stripe. They committed just 12 turnovers and forced the Stars into 16 turnovers. Marian held a commanding 43-27 advantage on the boards.

The Sabres dominated the paint outscoring the Stars 38-12. Marian's bench also came through with 28 points.

Hudak finished with 12 points and a team-high 4 assists for Marian. Kevin Lash (Aurora, IL) came through with 7 points off the bench.

Marquis Turley led the Stars with 25 points.

The Sabres are back in action again next Saturday, as they will travel to MSOE for a NAC contest.
