(Ashland, WI) - Todd Collins (Whitby, ON) and
Zack Fray (Cambridge, ON) both recorded hat trick's on Saturday in Marian's 9-1 victory over Northland College. The Sabres outscored the Lumberjacks 19-1 on the weekend and moved to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the MCHA. With the two hat tricks, Marian registered four on the weekend as
Nick Cinqeugrani (Rolling Meadows, IL) and
Dakota Dubetz (Chestermore, AB) achieved the feat on Friday.
The Sabres scored three times in the first, five times in the second and added a goal in the third.
Collins scored Marian's first two goals of the game with Justin Cormier (Calgary, AB) scoring the other Sabre goal in the period.
In the second, Collins completed the hat-trick as he scored just :49 into the period. Fray then scored two of his goals in the period, with Chris Thompson (Woodbury, MN) scoring in-between Fray's tallies. After a Lumberjack goal at the 14:00 mark, Brendan Hull (Calgary, AB) answered just :28 later.
Fray tallied the lone goal of the third period.
Marian outshot Northland 50-13 in the contest.
Lane Boswell (Calgary, AB) recorded four assists, while Thompson added three. Fray and Nick Henkemeyer (Prior Lake, MN) both had two helpers.
