(Milwaukee, WI) - Marian University moved to 3-2 in the NAC on Saturday with a sweep of MSOE. Marian won game one 8-7 and finished with a 9-4 victory in the game two. Marian is now 5-12 overall.
In game one, Marian led 8-1 going into the bottom of the ninth, but gave up six runs to make things interesting. The Sabres got out of a jam as MSOE stranded the bases loaded.
Anthony Porcaro (Burlington, WI) and
Ryan Hiller (Marshfield, WI) had standout offensive performances. Porcaro was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and Hiller was 2-for-5 with three RBIs.
Jesse Blum (Marion, WI) picked up his second victory of the season with a solid outing. He struck out eight in his eight innings of work.
In game two, the Sabres jumped on the Raiders early. They scored three times in the second and two more in the third to take a 5-0 lead. They added four insurance runs in the fifth.
Dustin Andrus (Oakfield, WI) had a solid outing in the victory. He struck out four and gave up just five hits in his eight innings.
Josh Klismith (Stevens Point, WI) led the Sabres at the plate going 3-for-5.
Tim Holtz (Oshkosh, WI) and
Chad Langley (Racine, WI) both added a pair of hits.
Phil Seis (Antigo, WI) hit his first career home run in the contest.
