(Rockford, IL) - Rockford College flexed their offensive muscle on Thursday evening as they slugged their way to a 20-10 victory in seven innings over Marian University. The Regents hit three home runs and knocked out seventeen hits in the victory. The Regents (13-6-1, 6-2 NAC) also took advantage of eight Sabre errors in the contest.
Marian (7-15, 3-5 NAC) led 5-1 heading into the bottom of the third, but the Regents scored the next eleven runs of the game to take control. Marian was able to cut it to 12-8 in the top of the fifth, but the Regents answered with five in the bottom half of the frame.
Josh Klismith (Stevens Point, WI) continued to swing a hot bat as he was 3-for-4 with three runs and a RBI. He doubled twice and homered in the contest. He leads the team in both categories.
Ryan Hiller (Marshfield, WI), Ryan Seifert (Germantown, WI), and
Will Martin (Villa Park, IL) all recorded two hits. Hiller homered for Marian, while Seifert paced the team with three RBIs.
Marian will hit the road on Saturday, as they will play at Benedictine University. They are back at Herr-Baker Field on Sunday, as they will host Concordia University-Chicago.
