(Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University won a pair of NAC matches on Saturday as they defeated Aurora University 8-1 and Rockford College 6-3. Marian is now 4-8 overall and 3-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
The Sabres won five singles matches in straight sets against Aurora and had two tightly contested doubles matches.
Jory Lawson (Wausau, WI) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at \#1 singles, while
Lucas Nieman (Oshkosh, WI) was flawless with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
At \#3 singles,
Kyle Ohland (Beaver Dam, WI) was a 6-4, 6-1 winner. At \#5,
Andrew Bales (Iron Mountain, MI) was a 6-3, 6-4 winner, while
Andreas Anklam (Omro, WI) picked up his first singles victory at \#6 singles.
Nieman and Ohland won an exciting 11-9 match at \#1 doubles, while Lawson and Anklam won 9-7 at \# 3 singles.
Sam Cripe (Kohler, WI) and Bales won easily at \#2 doubles, 8-1.
Against Rockford, Lawson, Nieman, Bales, and
Luis Cortes (Oshkosh, WI) all won their respective singles matches.
Nieman and Ohland won at \#1 doubles, while Lawson and Cortes teamed up to win at \#3 doubles.
