WATERTOWN, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University men's soccer team fell victim to a 1-0 defeat to host Maranatha Baptist Bible College after a 24th minute goal by Dustin Dolan stood to the end in a Northern Athletics Conference matchup today, Oct. 20.

Dolan's goal came unassisted and was one of 18 shots on the afternoon for the Crusaders, who outshot the Sabres, 18-9. Maranatha also garnered seven corner kicks to just one for Marian. MBBC goalkeeper, Jon Knoedler, registered three saves in earning his second shutout of the season.  

Maranatha improves to 6-9 overall, 2-7 in the NAC, while Marian falls to 4-11-1 (4-6 NAC).

Jacob Dorsey and David Reinke were the lone Sabres to record multiple shots on the afternoon as each tallied two. Goalkeeper Nathan Thiery made five saves in the match.

The Sabres will be back in action this Saturday, Oct. 22, to take on non-conference foe Finlandia University in what will be senior day for Marian's lone senior, Luke Peltonen.
