Oshkosh, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University women's soccer team was unable to hold an early 1-0 lead, surrendering two goals in the second half to fall 3-1 on the road against 24th-ranked UW-Oshkosh at Titan Stadium this evening, Oct. 10.

Playing in front of her hometown, freshman keeper Jordyn Berger, made her first career start and fended off 22 Titan shots, while making six saves. Teammate, Laura Maly gave her and the Sabres an early 1-0 lead with a 15th minute tally from five yards out. The Sabres defense, however, was unable to stop the quick paced Titans from scoring three down the stretch to overcome the early deficit.

Marian drops to 6-7 overall with the loss, while Oshkosh improves to 9-2-3 with the win.

After the Maly goal, the Titans retaliated quickly scoring in the 19th minute from Becca Blue. The match would remain tied going into the second period until Titan Nicole Strieker single-handedly beat the Sabres, netting the tying score in the 51st minute and game-winner in the 72nd minute.

Maly had three shots on the evening, while two were on goal. Those two shots were the only shots on goal Marian would be able to produce compared to nine for the Titans. The Sabres were outshot, 22-6, for the match.

The Sabres now face NAC opponents for their next six games, starting with Benedictine University, Saturday, Oct. 13. Game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. in Lisle, Ill. at The Village of Lisle – Benedictine University Sports Complex.
