Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Marian baseball suffered an 8-2 loss at the hands of Ripon Thursday at Herr-Baker Field.
The setback breaks the Sabres eight-game winning streak that dated back to April 10.
The Red Hawks (11-12) jumped on Marian early. Ripon pushed across two runs in the top of the first and two runs in the top half of the third and led 4-0 after three complete.
The Sabres (16-14) showed life in the bottom of the fourth when Earl Vorpagel singled through the left side to score a run.
The Red Hawks added a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to grab control.
Mark Wallace (0-3) tossed three innings and allowed six hits, four runs and no walks and struck out a batter.
TJ McCoy went 0-for-1 but drew three walks and Cole Miklavcic batted 2-for-4 and scored a run.
Marian returns to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Sunday, April 25 at Benedictine and returns home Sunday, April 26 against Dominican.
