Box Score 2 FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Marian baseball was swept in a non-conference doubleheader by Bethel, 5-0 and 15-1, Tuesday afternoon at Herr-Baker Field.
In game one Mark Wallace absorbed the loss. The freshman tossed three and one third innings and scattered six hits, allowed three runs (two earned) and two walks and struck out three batters.
Adam Ryan and Tony Grannis each collected a hit.
In game two TJ McCoy singled up the middle in the bottom of the first inning to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead, however, from there the Royals (27-6) scored 15 unanswered runs and seized game two.
Shaquille Lacroes was tagged with the loss. The junior threw four and on third innings and allowed five hits, five runs and one walk and fanned three batters.
Earl Vorpagel batted 2-for-3 and Grannis was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Marian (20-16) returns to action Wednesday, April 29 for a 6 p.m. non-conference tilt against Carthage.
