MEQUON, Wis. – TJ McCoy batted 2-for-4 with three runs batted in but the No. 2 seed Marian Sabres fell by a score of 10-9 to the No. 6 seed Aurora Spartans in the second round of the 2015 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Baseball Tournament at Kapco Park. With the setback the Sabres were eliminated from the tournament and complete their season with a 23-19 record.

MU's prolific offense put the Sabres on the board in the top of the third. Ty Gellinger singled to left field to score a run and McCoy recorded a sacrifice fly to center field the Sabres led 2-0.

However, AU responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third and tied it at 2-2.

The Sabres again built a two-run lead in the top of the fourth. Cole Miklavcic recorded a sacrifice fly to center field and Earl Vorpagel doubled to left field to plate a run and the Sabres led 4-2 after four frames.

The Spartans (23-19) scored once in the bottom of the fifth and five times in the bottom of the sixth to open the game up. Both teams traded runs in the seventh inning and after eight-complete innings the Sabres trailed 10-6.

MU rallied in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to within one, but ultimately succumbed.

Jordan DeBoer batted 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and Adam Ryan finished 1-for-3 with an RBI.
