Box Score 2 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Marian University baseball (7-20, 0-10 NACC) was shutout by the strong pitching of UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference doubleheader with finals of 5-0 and 12-0 in seven innings.
In the opener of the twin bill the Sabres would ride a strong first couple innings from Brady Nehring. The Pointers were able to get to the freshman righty in the fourth inning, however, putting up three runs off of a pair of hits.
Nehring exited the game throwing 4.0 innings scattering seven hits and allowing just those three runs in the fourth inning.
The Sabres were able to bang out eight hits in the game, but were unable to string hits together and find a rhythm offensively. Jake Falish and Cody Schaefer led MU going 2-4 at the dish in the loss.
The late afternoon game was a similar story with UWSP getting out to a fast start offensively plating 10 runs in the first three innings.
Jordan Walker was the only Sabre to scratch out multiple hits going 2-2, while Michael Pappas reached base twice via a walk and hit by pitch.
Marian returns to NACC play when they host Aurora Saturday, April 20 for the annual Military Appreciation Game with a noon first pitch for the doubleheader.
