RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University men's tennis (4-9, 2-6 NACC) closed out the 2017 season with an 8-1 victory over Concordia Chicago.
The Sabres opened the match sweeping all three doubles matches with the No. 2 duo of Patrick Schwoerer and Spencer Brasswell winning 8-0. The No. 1 team of Joey Dittman and Danny Roe took an 8-2 victory, while at No. 3 Brandon Ruis and Ryan Biffert won 8-4.
Concordia Chicago would take No. 1 singles in a three-set tie-break thriller but the rest was all Sabres. Biffert had a clean sweep at No. 6 singles winning 6-0, 6-0, while Brasswell only dropped one game at No. 4 singles winning 6-0, 6-1. Schwoerer closed out his Marian career with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles, while Ruis closed out the win at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
