FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University baseball (11-29, 5-15 NACC) closed out the season falling to UW-Stevens Point 13-1 in eight innings and 10-1 in seven innings.

The Pointers jumped on the Sabres early scoring eight runs in the first four innings.  Sophomore Travis Slywka would drive in freshman Nick Bastien following the seventh inning stretch to end the shutout but UW-Stevens Point was able to put up five runs in the eighth to close out the game.

Slywka along with freshman Tommy Miller and junior Michael Pappas had multi-hit games in the opener, while senior Brendan Huber closed out his Sabre career with 2.0 hitless innings out of the bullpen.

UWSP came out fast again in game two scoring four runs in the first two innings before Marian cut into the lead in the third.  Freshman Trey Johnson drove a double to right field to score junior Jordan Walker and the Sabres had a pair of runners in scoring position but were unable to capitalize with two outs and settled for one run in the inning.  The Pointers answered in the next half-inning with three runs and cruised to the 10-1 win.

Sophomore Josh Bartelt had two of the three Sabre hits in the loss, while senior Sam Long ended his Marian career with 2.0 innings of work only allowing two hits and a pair of unearned runs.

Senior Tommy Dugandzic, Cole Miklavcic and Tyler Thompson also had their final games as Sabres at Herr-Baker Field.
