AURORA, Ill. / MADISON - Marian University men's tennis clings to a shot at the NACC Tournament after falling to Aurora 6-3 and Edgewood 8-1.

The Sabres opened their day with some troubles in doubles action against Aurora but closed the match splitting singles action. Marian would win all of the odd singles flights led by Danny Roe who swept No. 1 singles 6-1, 7-5.  Lawson MacDonald also earned a sweep at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0, while Ryan Biffert needed a tiebreaker to win No. 3 singles 3-6, 6-3 and 10-8.

Edgewood jumped out to a similar lead in the second match of the day but Marian would only manage one win in singles action.  Biffert improved to 5-1 on the year at No. 5 flight with a 6-2, 6-1 victory to close out the day.

Marian closes out the regular season at home tomorrow, Saturday, April 28, hosting Dominican at 10 a.m. and Concordia Chicago at 2 p.m. from Buttermilk Creek Park.  The Sabres will need two wins combined with two Aurora losses to earn a spot in the NACC Tournament.
