MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University baseball (18-22, 15-5 NACC) was eliminated from the NACC Tournament by No. 10 Concordia Chicago by a final score of 4-2.

Marian started slowly after the Cougars were able to plate a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, one of which was unearned, but the Sabre bounced back quickly.  The next half inning freshman Josh Gates would hit a one-out single which was followed by a double from sophomore Jake Arens.  Freshman Sean Meyer then roped a double down the right field line to bring both Sabres home and tie the game at 2-2.

The Cougars would take the lead once again with a run in the third and an unearned run in the fifth.  The Sabre bats would go quietly in the middle innings but managed to put some traffic on the bases late.  In the seventh and eighth inning, the Sabres would manage to put a runner in scoring position but were unable to find a clutch hit.  Then in the final inning, the Sabres brought the tying run to the plate but were unable to cash in.

Junior Ty Peccioli (4-1) was strong on the mound going 5.1 innings only allowing two earned runs, while freshman Logan Bosquez and junior Brady Nehring went the final 2.2 innings only allowing two hits.

On the offensive end, Meyer led the Sabres going 3-for-4 with two runs driven in and senior Michael Pappas closed out his career with a 2-for-4 game.  Seniors Hunter Berry and Jordan Walker also saw their careers with the Sabres come to an end in the defeat.
