Sabre men's tennis splits NACC road trip

MILWAUKEE / MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University men's tennis (3-7, 3-4 NACC) defeated Wisconsin Lutheran 6-3 before falling to Concordia Wisconsin 9-0.

Marian was able to open the day pushing their win streak to three matches with a win over Wisconsin Lutheran.  The Sabres took two of the three doubles matches with Lawson MacDonald and Coy Paulson winning at the second flight 8-4 and Austin Hall teaming up with Kyle Carignan for a default win at No. 3 doubles.  At the top doubles flight, Joey Dittman and Danny Roe dropped a tight match that required a 9-7 tiebreak.

Roe bounced back to lead Marian with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and MacDonald secured a sweep on the day with a 6-4, 6-3 No. 3 win.  Hall and Carignan won their matches by default at the No. 5 flight and No. 6 flight, respectively.

The Sabres would be shutout in their second match of the day against Concordia Wisconsin with MacDonald dropping his No. 3 singles match in a three-set tiebreak.

Marian closes out the regular season taking on Edgewood at 10 a.m. and MSOE at 2 p.m. in NACC action Saturday, April 27.
