Road woes continue for Sabre men's lacrosse in 13-7 loss at North Central (Ill.)

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Marian University men's lacrosse (3-2, 0-0 NACC) was outscored 7-1 in the final quarter of a 13-7 loss to North Central (Ill.).

After the Cardinals scored the opening goal of the game, Marian netted three goals with someone different scoring each goal.  North Central (Ill.) returned the favor outscoring the Sabres 3-1 in the second quarter to bring the game to a 4-4 stalemate.

The two squads continued to battle back-and-forth as each team scored a pair of goals in the third quarter to bring the score to 6-6 heading into the final quarter.  Marian was able to strike first in the fourth quarter but the Cardinals responded with seven unanswered goals to secure the 13-7 win.

The Sabres had six different goal scorers with sophomore Dawson Rodin recording the only multi-goal game for the Sabres.  On the defensive end, senior Tommy Gerlach had five ground balls and also caused three turnovers.

Sophomore Cameron Nevins (3-2) took the defeat but made 17 saves on 30 shots. 

Marian opens NACC play hosting MSOE Wednesday, March 31 for a 7 p.m. start.
