Box Score MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University men's lacrosse (6-5, 3-3 NACC) defeated Concordia Wisconsin in convincing fashion by a 17-8 final on the road.
It was a strong start for the Sabres as Marian was able to score six of the first eight goals and led 6-3 entering the second quarter. The second stanza was all Marian as the Sabres held the Falcons scoreless and found the back of the net twice themselves to hold an 8-3 edge going into the half.
Marian was able to continue their momentum in the third quarter once again shutting out the Falcons and scoring five times to go up 13-3 heading into the final quarter. Junior Erik Horman had three of the Marian goals in the quarter. The Falcons were able to outscore the Sabres in the final quarter by a 5-4 margin but Marian was able to hold on for the 17-8 win.
Horman finished with four goals and four assists, while fellow junior Colt Robertson also had three goals and five assists. Junior Finn Maloney led the scoring for Marian with six goals. Senior Tommy Gerlach had double-digit ground balls for the fourth time this season finishing with 11 to go with three caused turnovers.
Marian closes out the regular season tomorrow Saturday, April 24 at Concordia Chicago for an 11 a.m. start.
