Box Score MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University men's soccer (6-6-2, 4-3-2 NACC) rallied from a two-goal deficit to tie the game but fell to CUW 3-2.
The opening 40 minutes were quiet only to have CUW score a pair of goals separated by just 1:41. The first goal came at the 41:02 mark and the second at the 42:43 mark. The Sabres had outshot the Falcons 8-5 in the stanza but headed into the locker room down 2-0.
Marian bounced back quickly cutting the deficit in half just 6:07 into the second half. Senior
Max Kauffman was able to score his third goal of the season with an assist coming from junior
Drew Cowden. The Sabres were then able to tie the game with the 11th goal of the season from junior
Giuliano Corazzina off of a feed from freshman
Israel Duran.Â
CUW was able to respond with just 8:59 left to play scoring off of their second corner kick of the match. Marian managed four shots in the remainder of the game but couldn't find the equalizer again.
Marian finished with an 18-13 edge in shots led by Corazzina and Duran who each had four shots. Junior
Aden Jerome and senior
Aaron Perez (2-3-1) each made two saves in goal.
Marian returns home to take on Aurora Saturday, Oct. 15 for a noon kick-off in NACC action.
