MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Marian University field hockey (5-5, 1-3 SAA) fell to Rhodes 4-0 and 4-1 on the road.
The Sabres had a slow start in the opening game of the series but bounce back in the second half to keep the game competitive. Freshmen
Allyson Nichols and
Jikke Biemans each had four shots, while junior
Brenna Abrahamson made seven saves.
The second game of the series was primarily controlled by Rhodes but Marian was able to head home with a goal. Biemans would score her eighth goal of the season to close out the second game. Abrahamson added nine more saves to put her weekend total at 16 saves.
Marian heads outside of NCAA Division III to take on Maryville Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. and Lindenwood Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. in non-conference action.
