OSHKOSH, Wis. / FOND DU LAC - No. 7 Marian University ACHA D2 (6-8-1, 1-1-0 NCHL) earned its first sweep of the season behind wins of 7-2 and 8-2 over UW-Oshkosh.
The Sabres were able to overcome a slow start in game one to earn a road win. The Titans scored the first pair of goals only to have
Tyler Bueckert and
Tyler Studant quickly tie the game in the opening period.Â
Simon Ellingson then lit the lamp to close out three Sabre goals in a span of 1:38 as Marian took the lead for good. Studant and Ellingson each scored their second goals of the game in the second period as Marian took a 5-2 advantage into the third. Marian would be outshot in the final period but Bueckert and Easton Nick each lit the lamp to put the final at 7-2. Each team managed 33 shots in the game with
Will McCreight making 31 saves to earn the win in net for Marian.Â
