FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's lacrosse (3-9, 1-4 NACC) was defeated 9-4 at home against Illinois Tech.

The Sabres and Scarlet Hawks traded goals to open the game with freshman Cole Hales-Main finding the back of the net.  Senior Finn Maloney would score a man-up goal to put Marian behind 3-2 after one quarter.  Illinois tech then scored three goals in the second and shutout Marian to go ahead 6-2 heading into halftime. 

Maloney would score his second goal of the game to open the second half but IIT managed three unanswered goals to take a 9-3 lead.  Maloney then finished off a hat trick, assist to senior Tyren Boots, as the final score settled at 9-4.

Freshman Ben Martin had a big game on the defensive end recording 10 ground balls to go with four caused turnovers.  Senior Erik Horman (2-7) made 11 saves in goal for Marian.

Marian travels to Edgewood for a 7 p.m. NACC game Tuesday, April 19.
