Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University baseball (8-14, 4-8 NACC) fell in game one 15-5 but bounced back to defeat Concordia Wisconsin 3-2 in five innings.
The Falcons were able to jump out to a fast start offensively in game one to pull away from the Sabres. CUW scored three runs in the first two innings to open the scoring. Senior Josh Gates would drive in a run for the Sabres in the first and graduate student Sean Meyer drove in a pair in the second to put the score at 6-4. The Falcons pulled their lead out to 8-4 with another pair of runs in the third.
Junior Brady Zackrison made it a three run game in the fourth driving in a run with a double. CUW responded with another pair of runs in the fifth to put the game at 10-5. The Falcons ended any thoughts of a comeback with five runs in the top of the ninth inning.
Meyer and Zackrison each had three-hit games with Meyer also driving in two runs and scoring once.
Marian is scheduled to host Ripon tomorrow Thursday, April 21 for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game.
