Box Score LISLE, Ill. - Marian University men's lacrosse (5-11, 3-5 NACC) dropped its final game of the season 18-7 at Benedictine.
It was a slow start for the Sabres with Marian falling behind 11-3 going into halftime. Freshman Serge Simard scored in the first quarter for Marian, while senior Cole Grossen and freshman Jack Mehojah found the back of the net in the second quarter.
Marian scored three of the first five goals to open the second half with freshman Cole Hales-Main opening the stanza with a score. Simard then scored a man-up goal followed by a score from freshman Austin Lemke. Benedictine would score five of the final six goals in the game, however, to pull away. Mehojah had the lone score for the Sabres in the fourth quarter.
Simard finished with a four-point game scoring a pair of goals to go with two assists. Senior Casey Dare won 15 faceoffs and finished with a game-high 13 ground balls. In goal, junior Richard Summers III (3-4) made eight saves in the defeat.
