Box Score MILWAUKEE - Marian University men's lacrosse (3-6, 1-1 NACC) fell 20-8 on the road at MSOE.
The Raiders were able to keep the Sabre offense in check throughout the first half as senior Finn Maloney and freshman Cole Hales-Main were the only goal scorers for Marian. MSOE was able to find the back of the net seven times in the second quarter to build an 11-2 lead going into the break.
A pair of man-up goals in the third quarter kept Marian in the game with Hales-Main scoring once and freshman Serge Simard scoring the other. MSOE was able to bounce back in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter opening the stanza with a 5-2 run to build an 18-6 lead. Freshman Austin Lemke scored a pair of goals and fellow freshman Carter Vanderhoofven found the back of the net in the final quarter as the final settled at 20-8.
Senior Casey Dare won 13 of his 23 faceoffs and finished with a game-high nine ground balls, while senior Trevor Propeck was able to force three turnovers. Hales-Main produced five points to lead the offense with a pair of goals and three assists. Senior Erik Horman (2-4) finished with 12 saves in net for the Sabres.
Marian travels to Aurora to close out the week Saturday, April 9 for a 2 p.m. NACC game.
