OSHKOSH / STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Marian University women's volleyball (0-8, 0-0 NACC) played four matches between the UW-Oshkosh M.V.P. Invitational and UW-Stevens Point Invite.
The Sabres had a tough time at the UW-Oshkosh invite falling to host UW-Oshkosh and Lake Forest in straight sets. Junior
Kaitlyn Merrill led the Marian offense recording nine kills against the Titans and 10 kills against LFC. Fellow junior Jasica Reagan earned All-Tournament honors after posting four service aces and 11 digs between the two matches.
Marian was able to take a pair of sets in the second tournament of the weekend but fell to Concordia Moorhead and Saint Mary's (Minn.) in four sets. The opener against the Cobbers saw Merrill post a season-high 16 kills with junior
Anna Tapia recording 26 assists. Against the Cardinals, Merrill had another 12 kills with three service aces, while senior
Andrea Miller added four service aces and a team-best 16 digs. Tapia posted a double-double with 10 assists and 12 digs, and freshman
Mikalah Mueller had a team-best 13 assists.
Marian opens NACC play hosting Alverno Wednesday, Sept. 14 for a 7 p.m. first serve.
