GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Marian University field hockey (3-2, 1-1 SAA) opened a 10-game road trip to close out the regular season falling to DePauw 3-0.
The Tigers were able to get out to a strong start against the Sabres but Marian was able to hold DePauw scoreless on four shots on goal in the opening quarter. Marian managed to outshoot DePauw in the second quarter but the Tigers were able to score on both of their shots on goal. DePauw was able to once again control play for most of the second half but the Sabres were able to limit the Tigers to just one goal that came in the fourth quarter.
DePauw finished with a 13-6 advantage in shots for the game with freshman
Jikke Biemans being the lone Sabre to record multiple shots. Junior
Brenna Abrahamson (3-2) finished with seven saves.
Marian closes out the weekend traveling to Wooster for a 10:00 AM (CDT) start Sunday, Oct. 2.
