FOND DU LAC - Marian University NCAA men's hockey (4-8-0, 2-6-0-0 NCHA) scored four goals in the first period as part of a 6-3 win over Concordia College.
- Junior Daunte Fortner was able to open the scoring just 5:36 in with an assist from freshman Nolan Flint. The goal was the third of the season for Fortner, while the assist was the first career point for Flint.
- Just 1:38 later, junior Nicholas Cherkowski made it a 2-0 Sabre lead with assists from senior Adam Nobes and sophomore Alex Enegren.
- The Cobbers responded with 8:00 left in the period to put the score at 2-1.
- The Sabres quickly responded with a pair of goals separated by just 43 seconds.
- Junior Jaymes Knee netted the first with an assist from senior Jordan Simoneau, while Nobes netted the second with an assist from senior Nolan Kadachuk.
- The quick start put Marian ahead 4-1 going into the second period.
- It took the Sabres just 10 seconds to take a 5-1 lead in the second period. Freshman Caden Carlson netted the goal for Marian with helpers from Nobes and Cherkowski.
- Concordia was able to make it a 5-2 game but the Sabres quickly answered again.
- Knee netted his second goal of the game, fifth of the season, at the 9:20 mark with assists from senior Blake Kleiner and Fortner.
- Marian would hold on to its 6-2 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
- The third was a penalty-filled period that saw the Cobbers score with 12:51 to play.
- The Sabre penalty kill was able to stave off a major penalty and 4:44 with an extra Cobber attacker on the ice to earn the 6-3 win.
- Marian was outshot 34-24 for the game but outshot the Cobbers 10-9 in the first stanza.
- The Sabre power play was 1-for-2 (.500), while the penalty kill allowed just one goal on eight Cobber power plays.
