KENOSHA, Wis. - Marian University men's lacrosse (1-1, 0-0 NACC) earned its first win of the season defeating Monmouth 16-6.

   

• Marian scored the first five goals of the game in the first 9:06 of the game.
• The Sabres eventually took a 9-1 lead after the first quarter with three goals being man-up scores.
• The Scots were able to battle back outscoring Marian 3-2 in the second quarter but the Sabres still led 11-4 at the break.
• Marian was able to pull away in the third quarter outscoring Monmouth 4-1.
• A quiet fourth quarter saw each team score once as the Sabres iced a 16-6 win.

   

• Marian finished with a 90-29 advantage in shots for the game.
• The Sabre clear had a strong game with only two failed clears on 21 attempts.
• Marian had a 60-46 advantage in ground balls.
• The Sabres had 16 chances with a man-up scoring seven goals.

 

Senior Erik Horman reached 100 career points scoring five goals with four assists.  He also had eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.	Freshman Connor Fitzgerald had a team-high nine ground balls with three points.	Freshman Jackson Sweeney (1-1) earned his first collegiate win making 11 saves.
